Day 9: Miracles

God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.
Hebrews 2:4

What do you consider a miracle? Miracle is a tricky word because it can sometimes be difficult to define. A true miracle is something that is accomplished by the power of God. Miracles can come in all shapes and sizes. In the Old Testament, God literally made the Red Sea spread apart in the middle so that His people would have an escape path away from their enemies. Later in the New Testament, Jesus made blind men see, turned water into wine, and resurrected the dead. Even followers of Jesus saw miracles like these after they prayed for people.

Perhaps you can think of things that have happened in your life that are miracles. Are there times that you can look back and see God’s divine intervention was at work? Has the outcome of a life situation changed because God acted on someone’s behalf?

Someone once said, “Dream of doing something that you could never do on your own. That way, when you’re finished you will know it was God’s doing and not yours alone.” Church growth certainly falls into this category. We each will do our part in reaching the community, but without God it will all be for nothing. God is the ultimate source for everything we need. He is in the miracle working business.

Prayer Focus: Take time to reflect on the miracles in your life. Spend time earnestly thanking God for the times He has intervened in your life. Commit to having an attitude of gratitude. And commit to acknowledging our need for God and seeking His way in Northview Christian Life Church’s expansion and growth.
