Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
Colossians 3:15
As members of one body and so that this one body can function as a living organism, we have to, “let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts.” What does the peace of Christ look like? It looks like the example of Jesus who did not come to be served but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many. (Philippians 2) It looks like somebody who turns the other cheek, goes the extra mile, and returns good for evil.
As a believer, I consider it a blessing when somebody does me wrong, because this opens the door for me to win them to Christ. A couple of years ago I had a family member who said some hurtful things to me, like I will shun you etc. Without being pushy, I kindly apologized for any wrong that I had done and left it to God to restore this relationship. I did my part. As it says in scripture, let us do everything we can to live at peace with all men if that is possible. In my situation, God is restoring this relationship and the person who hurt me has come to know me in a better way. The person I hurt is seeking God more than ever before and even attending church on a regular basis. Look at conflict as an opportunity to invite Christ into the problem relationship.
